This is a monthly training and consultation group for therapists who want to deepen their IFS practice- not just intellectually, but experientially. Each month, we come together to learn the AWAKEN Method, a specific combination of expressive and somatic dharma arts with IFS, designed to make Self more accessible. This is achieved through specific spontaneous awareness and new direct access practices, alongside deepening our connection to Source and/or guides. Somatic Direct Access and integration methods are expanded through the use of mirroring, authentic movement, gestalt, movement, role-play, art, writing, and the shamanic Buddhist parts-work of "Feeding Your Demons."

Rather than a traditional case consultation format where a clinician simply describes a case, this group is built around somatic & experiential role-play. One member presents a case each month, and together we step into it by playing client and therapist. We are able to fully explore our own system and gain insight into our client’s systems by having greater access to Self. The learning happens in the body and in the relationship, not only in discussion. This format lets us practice the AWAKEN Method in real time, troubleshoot what actually happens in the room, and discover the places where our own parts get activated as clinicians.

What is the AWAKEN Method?

AWAKEN IFS is a specific combination of expressive and somatic dharma arts with IFS, designed to make Self more accessible.

AWAKEN IFS is a way of holding your system of parts with the support of your most unburdened, embodied Self, supported by Source. In this method, your greatest suffering becomes your greatest gift: your understanding of your own wound is what allows you to lead and teach others. It is your unique stamp, your unique expression, and what you offer to alleviate the suffering of your clients.

We slowly uncover this gift by getting to know the root burden of our child parts, healing what is carried in the body with the support of our spirit guides.

  • Awareness of parts, body, and the present moment

  • With Attunement mirroring and validating parts as they arise

  • Kinetic energy work somatics, movement, gestalt, and constellations

  • Expression through expressive arts

  • Nourishment by Self & Source, giving our parts exactly what they need through relationship with Self, feeding them the qualities they never received from caregivers or community

Through an embodied sense of spiritual guidance from the universe, guides, ancestors, or Source, Self is supported to heal all parts and return us to our original nature.

What You'll Gain

  • Hands-on, experiential practice applying the AWAKEN Method with real client material, through role-play rather than discussion alone.

  • Direct experience of what it feels like to be in embodied Self, and to notice when you've blended with a part, while doing clinical work.

  • A clearer map of your own therapist parts, the ones that show up in session, get activated by clients, or make it hard to stay in Self.

  • Learn facilitation of conscious blending/direct access & unblending skills using: various buddhist meditations (Self), authentic movement, guided visualization, gestalt role-play, writing and art making.

  • Expand unburdening techniques and integration through facilitation of embodying guides and somatic integration techniques.

  • Develop your meditation skills and personal connections to your spiritual practices or connections to Source/nature that you can take with you into sessions.

  • Practice accessing Self in an embodied, spiritually supported way as a clinician, so you can offer that same grounded presence and exploration to your clients.

  • A community of practitioners committed to both AWAKEN IFS training and their own ongoing unburdening and development.

Additional Benefits

  • Training and consultation allows participants to become part of the AWAKEN Provider Network. For some providers, this allows for referrals to their private practices.

  • Professionals that receive additional consultation under the AWAKEN Institute, are able to see clients as part of the AWAKEN Institute staff.

  • In 2027, group hours of supervision can be accrued towards IFS certification post completion of Level 2 by The IFS Institute. *Please notify Adrienne if you plan to pursue this certification by The IFS Institute as the IFS protocol must be followed as taught by this institute*

Format

  • Meets monthly

  • Experiential and role-play based and not a lecture or a straight case-discussion group

  • One case presentation per session, explored through role-play of client, therapist, and parts

  • Space held for processing what comes up for presenters, role-players, and observers alike

  • Common therapist and leadership parts are explored

Who This Is For

Clinicians who already have some grounding in IFS, are level 1 or level 1 equivalent through alternate courses and want to deepen their practice experientially, through the body, through relationship, and through their own unburdening- all while learning to work with clients supported by Source and by using the AWAKEN Method.
