AWAKEN Sacred Artist Intensive

For Performing Artists & Creatives

The Sacred Artist Intensive

A Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Immersion for Creative & Performing Artists

The Sacred Artist Intensive is a transformational therapeutic program designed specifically for creative and performing artists who feel disconnected from their spiritual purpose, creatively blocked, emotionally overwhelmed, or spiritually adrift.

This immersive experience invites artists to return to the source of their calling — not simply as performers or creators, but as vessels of meaning, healing, and inspiration.

Who This Is For

This program serves:

  • Actors, musicians, dancers, writers, directors, and multidisciplinary artists

  • Artists navigating burnout, creative blocks, or industry trauma

  • Creators healing from rejection, performance anxiety, identity fragmentation, or public scrutiny

  • Artists seeking deeper spiritual alignment in their craft

  • Visionaries who want their art to serve collective healing

Our Therapeutic Framework

This intensive integrates depth psychotherapy, embodied healing, contemplative practice, and expressive arts into one cohesive journey.

Trauma-Informed Somatic Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Participants explore the inner “cast of characters” that shape their artistic life — the Performer, the Critic, the Perfectionist, the Abandoned Child, the Visionary, the Protector.

Through trauma-informed somatic IFS:

  • Artists learn to identify and unblend from protective parts

  • Creative blocks are understood as intelligent survival strategies

  • The nervous system is gently regulated through embodied awareness

  • The Self — grounded, compassionate, and wise — becomes the creative director

Somatic practices help integrate insight into the body, where performance memory, rejection wounds, and artistic shame often reside.

Role-Play & Experiential Parts Work

Artists step into embodied dialogue with their internal parts through:

  • Guided role-play

  • Stage-based re-enactment of formative artistic moments

  • Reparative re-scripting of traumatic performance experiences

  • Externalization of inner conflicts

The stage becomes sacred ground for psychological integration.

Rather than performing for approval, participants learn to perform for truth.

Buddhist Meditation & Psychology

Drawing from contemplative traditions, the program incorporates:

  • Mindfulness meditation

  • Loving-kindness (metta) practices

  • Compassion-based inquiry

  • Non-attachment to outcome

  • Insight into ego identity vs. authentic expression

Artists explore:

  • Who am I in addition to my “performing parts” ?

  • What is my original connection to being a creative channel?

  • What protective parts resulted as a response to the industry, industry standards, expectations or intensity schedule of performances?

  • Can I create without clinging?

  • What is art in service of awakening?

These practices cultivate equanimity, clarity, and spiritual alignment in the creative process.

Therapeutic Creative Arts Process

Creativity is not just the outcome — it is the method of healing.

Participants engage in:

  • Improvisational movement

  • Voice and sound exploration

  • Expressive writing

  • Ritualized performance labs

  • Collaborative creation

Art becomes a vehicle for:

  • Trauma integration

  • Reclaiming authenticity

  • Restoring play

  • Channeling inspiration

The creative process itself becomes sacred practice.

Core Outcomes

By the end of the intensive, participants often experience:

  • Reconnection to their spiritual purpose as an artist

  • Increased nervous system regulation and embodied presence

  • Healing of performance-and/or industry related trauma

  • Space from critical parts

  • Renewed creative vitality

  • Greater alignment between art and soul

  • Confidence to create from Self rather than survival

The Deeper Intention

Artists have always been cultural healers, truth-tellers, and spiritual bridges.

This program supports artists in remembering that their work is not merely entertainment — it is medicine.

When artists heal, their art is liberated.
When their art is liberated, our culture is liberated.

What helping professionals say about working with Michelle and Adrienne:

What clients say about working with Adrienne:

“Though I absorbed tremendous knowledge, it was really the experience of embodied practice in a safe, affirming space and spiritually vibrant setting that made it utterly unique. As a professor, theatre artist, and drama therapist I gained skills, healing modalities, and practical tools that have expanded my offerings in healing, educational, and artistic work. Practicing these healing modalities in a supportive, compassionate, talented community in turn metamorphosed my own personal healing journey. In a short time, I awoke to some fundamental truths in myself and with the brilliant leadership and open-hearted community, I stepped into empowered self alignment in a way I never had before…I am happier and healthier than I have ever been and a better healer and facilitator as well —largely due to the impact of Beyond IFS and my work with Adrienne.” Axel W.

“Adrienne brings together her professional and personal expertise in her weaving in the wisdom of Internal Family Systems, expressive arts, Tibetan Buddhist traditions, and somatic approaches to create a comprehensive experience that guides participants to understand their connection to Self and parts on a whole new level. She approaches her role as facilitator as sacred, honoring and respecting the unique systems of each member as a part of the collective, fluidly shifting throughout the program to move at a pace and depth that stretches enough while maintaining safety within the risks. I would highly recommend Adrienne’s work to those who feel a calling to deepen their relationship with their own parts and to strengthen their capacity to offer this work to others.” -Sabrina B.

Where it all happens:

Pure land Farms in Topanga California

This program will be offered at Pure Land Farms in the rolling hills of Topanga California, a Buddhist retreat center. The land is named after Tanaduk, the Pure Land of the Medicine Buddha. Pure Land offers courses and workshops in the subjects of Tibetan Medicine, Buddhism, yoga, and rejuvenation, and group practices and small retreats in the Yuthok Nyingthig lineage, the unique spiritual tradition of Tibetan Medicine.

While Expressive Arts & Daily Parts Meditation Retreat is not a Buddhist or Pure Land Farms program ( all spiritual beliefs are welcome) it is connected to both the parts-work teachings of Dick Schwartz (IFS) and Feeding Your Demons, an ancient, shamanic, buddhist, embodied parts-work practice. We will be steeped in both Eastern and Western ways to view parts-work and connections to Lama Tsultirim’s Feeding Your Demons (parts-work) are directly connected to the lineage of Pure Land Farms.

There are beautiful nature walks, a pool, sauna and scenic views that are all part of the incredible landscape of Pure Land Farms.

As there is a dedication to Buddhist medicine at the farm,  there are fresh herbs and gardens surrounding the property and Tibetan medicine healers that can be booked on-site as a separate service from the program.
